My journey from prep to departure to adventure

At long last I have started dreaming and planning my journey back to 'the old country'.
I have been doing genealogy for nearly 30 years now, sometimes compulsively every chance I get and other times I put it aside for a bit.
This is my diary of my preparation, of my planning and eventually of my travel, my discoveries and the meeting of my relatives.

The preparation

So many decisions to be made.

When am I going?
Where do I go?
Do I go alone?
How long do I go for?
Where will I stay?
How much can I realistically achieve?
Do I plan to do everything I have ever wanted to do?(thinking I will never get back)
How do I prioritise what I want to do?

So many worries to consider.

Will I be safe?
How much money do I need?
How can I consider going to France when I don't speak French?
Can I do this massive thing on my own?
How can I leave my family at home ?

So much planning to do.

I love planning and making lists.
